Volume Magazine

C-LAB (Columbia Labratory for Architecture Broadcasting) with Archis and AMO

Volume Magazine is part of a think tank operation comprised of Archis, AMO (Office for Metropolitan Architecture’s research counterpart), and C-LAB (Columbia Lab for Architectural Broadcasting), with the aim of creating a dialogue between the academic, professional, and p ublic realm regarding groundbreaking ideas and concepts in architecture.

Students were chosen from Columbia Universities’ graduate architecture programs to participate in this exchange as part of C-LAB, the outcome of which is the “Volume” publication, with a future vision of forays into radio, internet and television. C-LAB enabled students involvement in the publication on many fronts from graphic design with such noted firms as 2x4 Inc. and Irma Boom, research with AMO and the Avery Library, and journalism and photography through Columbia University; all resources were available for use toward Volume Magazine publication.
