Gasket Rain Jacket

The Flower Gasket Jacket is a clever hooded rain jacket made out of inexpensive and durable materials that is digitally designed and fabricated. Blue rubber foam is cut on a laser cutter to emulate a flower brocade pattern that upon further inspection reveals its similarities to a gasket both in design and materiality. Clear PVC lines the inside of the jacket. The witticism of the gasket as a water seal between two adjoining machine parts and the flower gasket jacket as a water seal between the wearer and their environment is playful response to practical fashion needs.
