Façade Farm
In collaboration with fluxxlab and the New York City Parks Department with Carlos Limongi, Silvia Portilla and Phil Morgan
The Façade Farm project aims to design and fabricate an exterior structural system to support the growing and harvesting of food on new buildings located in cities. The design will be based on an intense period of research and information gathering in pursuit of presenting a plausible and functional prototype and business model for large scale agriculture to occur vertically in high-density areas.
Goverment incentives for food production in cities as well as building codes will be researched toward creating a prototype that is both economical and feasible.

The project was developed in collaboration with the New York City Parks Department. A prototype was installed and tested at the Five Borough Administration Building on Randall’s Island.
